Papa Nubs Organ Trio

Midwest blues, soul-jazz & funk organ trio

In honor of the Hammond legends

PNOT Presents

Papa Nubs Organ Trio (PNOT) is a Midwest blues, soul-jazz and funk organ trio centered on one-handed keyboard player Christian “Papa Nubs” Dyble. Gritty, high-energy and deep in the pocket, the band plays the vintage sounds of the golden-era Hammond groups with a modern blues take: NU.

PNOT digs mostly into the ’50s-to-’70s catalog of classic soul-jazz and Blue Note–era tunes, plus originals inspired by that era. It’s all grounded in a groove-first, blues-centered approach that isn’t shy about hip-hop rhythms and backbeats, so it lands with everyone from the Hammond die-hard to listeners hearing a Hammond for the very first time.

Christian “Papa Nubs” Dyble

Organ

A multi-instrumentalist with a brass player’s phrasing. His right hand spins high-octane, horn-like lines as his left-arm nub locks down deep bass lines and grooves.

Tyler Furrer playing guitar

Tyler Furrer

Guitar

With years of experience on Nashville’s Broadway, Tyler brings a dirty, country-blues approach that slots naturally into the classic organ-trio sound.

Ryan Thomas playing drums

Drums

The conductor of this train. Fiery, inventive and classically trained, he pushes the band into uncharted territory as an unstoppable rhythmic force.
